Physical security is particularly important for Internet datacenters. The closed building provides restricted access to authorized personnel only. All facilities are guarded on a 24-hour basis and video surveillance covers all "critical" areas, including entrances.
The FreeBSD UNIX servers are extensively tested and coordinated for maximum performance. All non-necessary services are disabled, all security patches are up-to-date and servers are audited regularly for attempted break-ins.
| REDUNDANT CLIMATE CONTROL |
The heat output of hundreds of powerful computers on the network requires redundant and uninterruptible climate control. Pair's system, Liebert 30-ton, ensures the well functioning of all systems.

| UNINTERRUPTIBLE POWER SYSTEM (UPS) |
Providing continuous clean power is a significant challenge for modern datacenters. All power is delivered through the massive Powerware 9315 Hot Synk online Uninterruptible Power System. Weighing in at more than nine metric tons, this unit can operate the entire facility.
The UPS is prepared but rarely needs to provide power from battery, as the Automatic Transfer Switch ensures that a standby generator comes online promptly in the event of an outage.
The factory-new 750.000-watt Caterpillar diesel generator provides emergency power for the facility, in the event of utility outages. Started by Automatic Transfer Switch this generator can power the datacenter indefinitely.
